Cookie Policy

Aspect Building Solutions Ltd Last updated: 13 October 2026

1. What cookies are Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. Similar technologies, such as your browser’s local storage, work in the same way. They can be “session” cookies, deleted when you close your browser, or “persistent” cookies, which stay until they expire or you delete them. Cookies set by the site you are visiting are “first-party”; cookies set by another organisation are “third-party”.

This policy covers the public website at aspect-building.co.uk and the portal at portal.aspect-building.co.uk. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy.

2. How we use cookies We use cookies for two purposes only:

Strictly necessary: to make the website and portal work and to keep the portal secure. These do not require consent. Analytics: to understand how visitors use the public website, so we can improve it. These are only set if you accept them. We do not use advertising or marketing cookies, and we do not track you across other websites.

3. Your choices When you first visit the public website, a banner asks whether you accept analytics cookies. Accept and Reject are given equal weight, and nothing from Google is loaded unless you accept. You can change your mind at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the website footer; withdrawing consent removes the analytics cookies.

Your choice is remembered in your browser’s local storage, which is not shared with anyone, so we do not keep asking.

You can also control cookies through your browser settings, by blocking or deleting them. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will stop the portal from working, as you will not be able to stay logged in.

4. Cookies on the public website (aspect-building.co.uk) Strictly necessary The public website sets no cookies before you make a choice. Your consent choice is stored in your browser’s local storage, which is exempt from consent because it exists only to honour your choice:

aspect-cookie-consent (local storage, first-party): remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies. Kept until you clear it or change your choice. Analytics, only with your consent If you accept, we use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google, to collect anonymous, aggregated usage statistics. It sets these cookies:

_ga (Google): distinguishes unique visitors. Expires after 2 years. _ga_[measurement-id] (Google): keeps session state for Google Analytics 4 [confirm the measurement ID]. Expires after 2 years. _gid (Google): distinguishes unique visitors. Expires after 24 hours. _gat (Google): limits the rate of requests to Google. Expires after 1 minute. If you reject or withdraw consent, these cookies are not set, and any already set are removed.

Maps Where the site shows a map, it uses OpenStreetMap tiles via the Leaflet library. This does not set cookies.

5. Cookies in the portal (portal.aspect-building.co.uk) The portal is a private, logged-in system used by Aspect staff, suppliers and subcontractors. It uses strictly necessary cookies only, to sign you in and keep your session secure. There are no analytics or marketing cookies in the portal, so there is no cookie banner there.

sb-[project-ref]-auth-token and related sb- cookies (Supabase, first-party): keep you signed in and maintain your authenticated session securely. Session cookies, lasting until you sign out or the session expires [confirm the names for your project]. These cookies are essential: without them you cannot log in or use the portal, so they do not require consent.

6. Changes to this policy We may update this policy as our use of cookies changes. The “last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed.

7. Contact Questions about cookies can be sent to privacy@aspect-building.co.uk, or see our Privacy Policy for more about how we handle your data and your rights.
